We have been working with Skynetics since 2015 on various projects. In 2016 we had a large peak in our modelling and simulation workload and we engaged Skynetics again to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the landing gear extension and retraction system, and to perform a landing gear shimmy analysis. Skynetics deployed several engineering analysts to the task and we found the team to be tremendously knowledgeable and skilled. The activity was completed professionally, liaising with our North American and European engineers and our European client. With Skynetics’ assistance the product successfully completed the Critical Design Review and is now in-service.

Skynetics provided excellent technical support for several aircraft landing gear Research and Technology projects, at both a system and equipment level. For example, long term work on a novel actuation project included activities such as requirement definition, performance studies, and supplier technical management; this comprehensive work led to build a very successful critical design review dossier. Skynetics also delivered impressive modelling and simulation efforts for state-of-the-art performance analysis, which required integrating inputs from a Japan-based supplier with a different culture and experience of using modern tools and techniques.

Westley Davidson Skynetics
Westly conducts modelling and simulation consultancy for the aerospace industry. He has 25 years experience and 20 years exclusive experience utilizing modelling tools such as Matlab/Simulink, MSc.ADAMS, AmeSim, Virtual Lab and MathCAD, and substantial domain experience in Landing Gear, Actuation Systems and Steering systems.
Internationally he is considered a leading expert in the analysis of Landing Gear Shimmy.
